Desktop - License Terms

This Desktop Font License (the “License”) governs the purchase and use of the digital font(s) (the “Font”) provided by Davide Bassu Studio or davidebassu.studio (the “Licensor”).

By purchasing and downloading the Font, the user (the “Licensee”) acknowledges that they have read, understood, and fully agree to the terms and conditions of this License.

1. Grant of License

1.1. Subject to the terms of this License, the Licensor grants the Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Font on a limited number of computers solely for desktop purposes, as specified at the time of purchase.

1.2. The Font remains the exclusive intellectual property of the Licensor. Purchase of this License does not transfer any ownership rights in the Font.

1.3. This License is valid for the specific number of users/devices indicated at the time of purchase (e.g., 1-user, 5-user, etc.).

2. Permitted Uses

The Licensee may:

  • Install the Font on the authorized number of desktop computers or workstations.
  • Use the Font to create documents, designs, presentations, and other static printed or digital materials for personal or commercial projects.
  • Embed the Font in PDF files for print or digital distribution, provided the Font is subsetted and cannot be extracted.
  • Create logos, branding materials, and marketing collateral using the Font (print and static digital use only).

3. Restrictions

The Licensee may not:

  • Install the Font on more computers than authorized by the purchased license.
  • Share, lend, rent, lease, sell, or transfer the Font files to any third party.
  • Convert, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative versions of the Font.
  • Use the Font in any web, app, server, or broadcast context (separate licenses required).
  • Embed the Font in editable templates, software, or applications that allow end-users to access or extract the Font.
  • Use the Font for the creation of alphabet products (e.g., lettering kits, stamp sets, or products whose primary purpose is the reproduction of the typeface itself).
  • Use the Font in any manner that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes the rights of third parties.

4. Number of Users / Devices

This License is limited to the exact number of users or devices specified at the time of purchase. Each “user” is defined as one individual person who may install the Font on up to two personal devices (e.g., desktop + laptop) exclusively used by that person.

5. Backup Copies

The Licensee may make a reasonable number of backup copies of the Font solely for archival purposes. Backup copies must remain under the Licensee’s exclusive control and may not be used simultaneously with the primary installation.

6. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Font, including all copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights, remain the sole and exclusive property of the Licensor. The Licensee acquires only the limited rights expressly granted under this License.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

The Font is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Licensor does not warrant that the Font will meet the Licensee’s requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Licensor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to the use of the Font, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The Licensor’s total liability under this License shall not exceed the amount paid by the Licensee for the Font.

9. Termination

This License is effective until terminated. The Licensor may terminate this License immediately if the Licensee fails to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, the Licensee must immediately cease all use of the Font and destroy all copies in their possession.

10. Governing Law

This License shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under this License shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Italy.

11. Entire Agreement

This License constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous agreements, representations, and understandings.

By purchasing and using the Font, the Licensee confirms acceptance of all terms and conditions set forth in this Desktop Font License.
